White House Memo Confirms Trump’s MRI Was ‘Perfectly Normal’ After Weeks of Democrat Attacks

by Richard A Reagan

The White House on Monday released a medical memo confirming that President Donald Trump’s MRI was perfectly normal

The disclosure ends weeks of speculation from Democrats and media outlets who questioned the results.

The results were issued as part of a broader executive physical conducted in October. The findings were not originally disclosed, which fueled speculation from critics like failed vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and several media outlets. They demanded the release of the information after Trump mentioned in an offhand comment that he had undergone an MRI and said the results were “perfect.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt read excerpts during Monday’s briefing from the summary prepared by Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella. She said the imaging was performed because men in the president’s age group benefit from a thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health.

The physician’s memo stated that Trump’s cardiovascular imaging is “perfectly normal.” It also said his abdominal imaging is “perfectly normal.” The memo added that his heart chambers are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of narrowing, inflammation, clotting, or abnormalities in any major blood vessels. It also said that his abdominal organs are healthy and functioning within normal limits.

The memo noted that this advanced imaging is standard for someone receiving a comprehensive executive physical at Trump’s age. It said the results confirm the president remains in excellent overall health.

The White House decision to release the results comes after weeks of pressure from Democrats and the media. Walz had used the MRI as a political jab after Trump criticized his handling of immigration and public safety in Minnesota. Rather than address policy issues, Walz responded to Trump by writing four words. “Release the MRI results.”

Trump said Sunday that he would release the records and added that he did not even remember which part of his body had been scanned. Speaking to reporters, he said it was not his brain because he had taken a cognitive test and aced it.

The speculation gained more traction after two visits to Walter Reed Military Medical Center in six months. Outside physicians questioned the lack of initial disclosure. The White House addressed those concerns on Monday by providing the memo and describing the imaging as preventive care.

Trump’s health has been a recurring topic among his critics. They previously questioned photos showing swollen legs and a bruised hand. The White House later explained that the swelling stemmed from chronic venous insufficiency and that the bruise came from constant handshaking.

Former White House physician Jeffrey Kuhlman said abdominal MRI scans are common in high level care where doctors aim to identify potential issues early. He said releasing the normal results should answer transparency concerns.

The latest memo concludes that Trump’s cardiovascular and abdominal systems are in excellent condition and that there are no acute or chronic issues. The results undercut the claims from Democrats who suggested the president was hiding something.

The White House said the matter should now be settled.
