Despite the increasing unpopularity of the Democratic agenda with more and more Americans, Democrats remain completely unaware and tone deaf. Rather than trying to meet Americans where they are, they’re trying to cram their agenda down our throats. And that is likely to cost them dearly in November.
The overriding issue facing most Americans today is inflation. The Biden administration has tried to blame everything and everyone except the Federal Reserve for this inflation. Its insistence that inflation is caused by President Putin, greedy oil companies, and other bogeymen is so transparently false that it’s amazing anyone actually takes it seriously.
Just as Republicans found out the hard way in 1992, “it’s the economy, stupid.” People will vote for who they believe will benefit them financially, and in this case people realize that Democrats are harming us, with out of control federal spending that will only fuel inflation, and failing to rein in a Federal Reserve that has driven inflation up to levels not seen in 40 years.
Against that backdrop, Democrats are still pushing social issues that may resonate with their base, but that are increasingly alienating moderates. In the aftermath of Roe v. Wade being overturned, Democrats are pushing for Congress to make abortion legal nationwide, trampling on the police powers of the states.
With leftist activists fire-bombing crisis pregnancy centers, and pro-death activists crowing about how important it is to them that other people’s children be sacrificed, the crazy and unhinged nature of the pro-aborts is becoming more and more obvious to casual observers. And the crazier the left gets in its efforts to enshrine Roe, the more it turns off fence-sitting voters.
Add to that the continued push on the left for acceptance of transgenderism and the LGBTQ agenda, and you have a recipe for turning off even more voters. Just look at the latest buffoonery from Rhode Island State Sen. Tiara Mack, who posted a video on social media of herself twerking upside down.
Not only was she completely oblivious to how foolish she looked, she lambasted her critics and doubled down on the stupidity. But the more people like her the Democrats push into positions of power, the more their party will look like a complete laughingstock to voters.
In short, we should hope for more and more shenanigans like Ms. Mack’s to come to light, so that more people see the Democratic Party for the joke that it is. The more actions like this become the face of the Democratic Party, the more disgusted Americans will become with Democrats and their inability to govern.
