Trump Orders Release of Grand Jury Transcripts in Epstein Case, Slams ‘Scam’ Narrative

by Richard A Reagan

President Donald Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to seek the release of grand jury transcripts related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. He called the controversy a “scam” driven by Democrats and amplified by the media.

“Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to court approval,” Trump wrote Thursday on Truth Social. “This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!”

Bondi responded publicly. She said she is prepared to take immediate action. “President Trump—we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts,” she posted on X.

The move comes amid renewed attention on the Epstein case. A Wall Street Journal article cited a bizarre, unverified letter allegedly sent by Trump in 2003.

The sketch described in the article included the outline of a naked woman and a birthday message signed by the president. Trump and Vice President JD Vance both denied the story outright. They criticized the Journal for publishing what they called a “fake” report.

“This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story,” Trump said, according to the outlet. “I never wrote a picture in my life… It’s not my words.” He added he intends to sue the Journal for defamation.

Vance called the story “complete and utter bullshit.” He questioned why the newspaper never presented the letter before publication.

Last week, the Department of Justice and FBI released a memo about the Epstein case. It concluded there was no credible evidence that Epstein had blackmailed public figures or kept a so-called “client list.”

The agencies also confirmed their review found Epstein died by suicide. They said no further disclosures were planned.

Despite criticism from some conservatives, Trump defended Bondi and the DOJ’s handling of the matter. “She’s handled it very well, and it’s going to be up to her,” Trump said. “Whatever she thinks is credible, she should release.”

The Southern District of New York oversaw the grand jury proceedings in Epstein’s 2019 sex trafficking case. Bondi is expected to formally petition the court for transcript release on Friday, pending judicial approval.

Previous grand jury records from a 2006 Florida case revealed disturbing testimony about Epstein’s abuse of underage girls. Some were as young as 14.

That case ended in a plea deal. Epstein served less than two years in prison.

With this latest action, Trump signaled a push for transparency. He also made clear he is ready to fight back against what he calls politically motivated smears tied to Epstein’s name.
