Trump and Musk Discuss Key Issues in X Interview: Musk Endorses Trump for 2024

by Richard A Reagan

Former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk engaged in a highly anticipated interview on X, formerly Twitter, to discuss critical issues surrounding the 2024 election.

Over 1.2 million users tuned in to witness this landmark conversation, which covered topics like immigration, inflation, foreign policy, and government spending.

Border Crisis and Immigration Concerns

The discussion kicked off with Trump addressing the ongoing crisis at the southern border. He expressed deep concern over the record-breaking surge of migrants, attributing the chaos to the Biden administration and specifically targeting Vice President Kamala Harris, who he said could have closed the border as the designated “border czar.”

“We’re already overwhelmed, Elon,” Trump stated. “They’re coming from Africa. They’re coming from Asia. They’re coming from the Middle East. They’re coming from South America. They’re coming from everywhere, and there are a lot of really bad ones,” he explained, criticizing the influx of migrants under Biden’s watch.

Trump didn’t hold back on Harris, saying, “She could close [the border] up right now,” but argued that she is “all talk” and has failed to take action. “She tries to pretend she’s going to do something … she’s had three and a half years,” he continued.

Musk, echoing Trump’s concerns, added, “Whether it’s a question of intention or incompetence, either way, we don’t have a secure border.” He agreed with Trump’s assessment that the current administration has allowed the situation to spiral out of control.

Inflation and Economic Woes

The conversation then shifted to the economy, where Trump lambasted the Biden administration for the skyrocketing inflation, which he argued has placed an enormous burden on middle-income Americans.

“If you’re just a middle-income person, you can’t afford it,” he remarked. “Four years ago, five years ago, people were saving a lot of money. Today, they’re using all that money and borrowing money just to live.”

Trump also connected inflation to global events, saying, “Inflation was caused by oil.” He argued that without events like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Hamas attack on Israel, and the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, “prices would be lower.”

Musk, an experienced entrepreneur, supported Trump’s stance on government spending and inflation. He proposed creating a government efficiency commission to curb wasteful spending, saying, “I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that ensures that the taxpayer money is spent in a good way.”

Trump responded enthusiastically, saying, “I’d love it. You’re the greatest cutter,” highlighting Musk’s reputation for reducing costs in business.

Foreign Policy and Global Security

Foreign policy was another major topic of the interview, with Trump warning that leaders of countries like North Korea, Russia, and China are at the peak of their capabilities, while the U.S. leadership under Biden and Harris is lacking.

“I know [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. I know President Xi [Jinping]. I know Kim Jong Un,” Trump said. “They’re at the top of their game; they’re tough; they’re smart; they’re vicious — and they’re going to protect their country.”

He criticized Biden and Harris, suggesting that these leaders do not take the current U.S. administration seriously. “When they see Kamala, or when they see Sleepy Joe, they can’t even believe it,” Trump said.

Musk underscored the importance of strong American leadership in maintaining global security, stating, “If the American president is someone who evil dictators are scared of, that makes a huge difference to the security of the world.”

Government Spending and Future Plans

Musk and Trump both expressed concerns over government spending, with Musk comparing the U.S. to Venezuela in terms of financial mismanagement. “We need to take the right path,” Musk said.

Trump, in agreement, called for an end to the “spiraling government spending” under the current administration.

Throughout the interview, Trump repeatedly warned of the dangers posed by the “radical left,” specifically targeting Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

He described Harris as a “radical left lunatic” who would lead the country into further turmoil if elected. “She is considered more liberal by far than Bernie Sanders,” Trump said. “If we have her as a president… I don’t think our country can survive.”

Musk Endorses Trump for 2024

Musk, who described himself as a moderate, used the platform to endorse Trump for the 2024 election.

He stated, “We are at a fork in the road in the destiny of civilization. We need to take the right path, and I think you are the right path.” Comparing Trump to Harris, Musk added, “You are the path to prosperity. And Kamala is the opposite.”

Trump, in turn, expressed gratitude for Musk’s support and highlighted the significance of the upcoming election.

“November 5th is going to be the most important day in the history of our country,” he declared. “We are going to do some great things. We are going to really turn around things fast. We have no choice, otherwise we are not going to have a country.”
